Because we are a membership organization, member dollars are the bedrock of our budget. This past year, money from your membership was allocated to the Museum’s education department, Mysteries of the Lost Colony marketing, artifact conservation, and much more. The Associates have funded an educational resource for middle schools in all 100 counties since 1983. We also provide funding and other resources to our branch museums in Elizabeth City, Fayetteville, and Old Fort.

The Young Associates offers engaging activities for members in their early 20s to early 40s. Last year the Young Associates hosted an oyster roast, their own Mysteries of the Lost Colony: A New World exhibit opening reception, and the ArtDuckO: Waterfowl Culture in North Carolina gala opening.

The Young Associates will host a non-partisan Election Night Returns event on November 4. What an exciting place to be -- between the State Capitol and the Legislative Building. Everyone is invited for what promises to be an historic evening.

Your membership also brings special privileges including: discounts at the Museum Shop, opportunities to participate in history related trips and tours, special invitations to new exhibits and immediate access to the nationwide network of History Museums and Historic Institutions across the nation.
