A true blockbuster.
NC Museum of History the only venue in the Southeast to be selected for this exhibit.

The exhibit includes:

  • Full-scale figures, architectural models, decorative arts, dioramas, maps, drawings, documents, paintings, books—and George's dentures
  • Interactive displays and videos
  • Educational programming
  • Forensic recreation of the "young" George

Visitors will learn about:

  • Washington's childhood, youth, and early manhood
  • His work as a surveyor and his stint in the French and Indian War
  • Episcopalian and vestryman very involved in two churches
  • Champion of political and religious freedom
  • Commander in Chief of the Continental Army
  • 50 years at Mount Vernon, where he introduced the mule, crop rotations, established fisheries, opened new global markets
  • Martha Washington's wedding dress, jewelry, china, silver, glassware
  • Life-sized model of the inauguration at Federal Hall in NY
  • Public's fascination with his death
